Ponti painted frescoes not only in Padua but also in Milan, in some rooms of the Popolo d'Italia building. In these frescoes the painted figures are not set against a void as in the Padua frescoes but framed by painted doors, a play of doors, which would reappear in Ponti's surprise furniture of these years.
